Harvest Run

Sun, Sep 10, 2023 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM MDT
Capstone 5589 - 47 ave Red Deer, AB T4N 6Z4

The Red Deer Harvest Run is organized by a volunteer committee, and is hosted by the Red Deer Runners. The committee was formed with the very first Harvest Run, in 1991.

To be held Sunday, September 10th, 2023, this family-friendly event offers a 3km walk/run, and an 8km run through the beautiful Red Deer trail system. Participants of all ages can enjoy the event at the level they choose. Both distances have plenty of competitive runners and enthusiastic beginners.

Entry fees are kept low, and bursaries are created from any surplus funds. The Harvest Run itself is a non-profit organization. At the conclusion of each year, the Harvest Run Committee contributes money to a bursary. This enables local young runners to pursue competition at higher levels. In the past, bursary money has enabled runners to compete at a national level.

The goal of the Harvest Run is to promote active living in Central Alberta. Because of this, organizers focus on keeping the cost of the event down through sponsorship, thus keeping the entry fees affordable.

Run The River

Sun, September 24, 2023 10:00 AM MDT

Join us for the fall version of our Run the River challenge. Challenge yourself to run further or faster than you did in the spring.

We've partnered with the Riverhawks and will be starting and finishing the run in Re/Max field. It's a very exciting change with plenty of parking, washrooms and indoor space. We're working on some awesome post race food options that will be included with your entry fee. And beer. We will have a post race beer garden! We will still be running on the pathway along the beautiful river valley and are finalizing the details of the route between Re/Max field and the pathway so stay tuned for updated maps.

The legendary kids events will happen inside the stadium. How fun is that for the littles?!
